The XS Tennis Village will offer numerous tennis, sports and fitness programs for children through adults taught by certified athletes and trainers. Ample indoor and outdoor tennis courts, an indoor and outdoor track, full-size basketball courts, a full fitness center and high performance training center will allow for concurrent high performance athlete programming and recreational usage by all members.

Junior Tennis

The XS Junior Tennis program will serve youth ages 3-18, from the in-school Tennis XSpress program and Junior development through to high performance elite tennis training and competition. The Junior Development Program and High Performance Academy will be run by certified tennis professionals, many of whom have collegiate and/or professional circuit experience. The program will include:

  • Matchplay (open to non-members)

Adult Tennis

The XS Adult Tennis program will serve all levels of ability, from beginner through ex-collegiate players, and include classes, leagues, tournaments and private lessons. The adult program will be run by certified tennis professionals, many of whom have collegiate and/or professional circuit experience. The program will include:

  • Beginner/Advanced Beginner Classes
  • Cardio Tennis
  • Wheelchair Tennis
  • USTA Adult Tournaments

Track & Field

The XS Track & Field program will be designed by three-time Olympic Gold Medal Winner and the Sports Illustrated for Women magazine’s “Greatest Female Athlete of the 20th Century,” Jackie Joyner-Kersee. The program will serve youth through adults. The program will include:

  • Sprinting, Hurdling, and Throwing-Specific Training

Fitness/Performance

The XS Fitness/Performance program will offer classes and personal training for all ages and levels of fitness. Certified instructors and trainers will oversee and deliver all fitness and performance programming, including:

  • Group Fitness and Yoga Classes

XS Summer Camps

The XS Summer Camps for community youth and high performance youth athletes will run every day from 9am to 4pm from June through August with before and after care available. Camps offered will include: STEM & Sports Camp, High Performance Tennis Camp, Basketball Camp and Track & Field Camp, as follows:

STEM & Sports Camp

In the XS STEM & Sports Camp, there will be a 1: 6 counselor: student ratio, with camp counselors provided by After School Matters. Campers will enjoy a variety of sports, from tennis, soccer and track & field to basketball, baseball and volleyball, as well as nutrition education. The XS summer reading program and STEM instruction will continue to be supported by Project SYNCERE, CPS teachers, and graduate students from the University of Chicago. Activities will include creative arts and field trips to the beach and local museums.

High Performance Tennis Camp

The XS High Performance Camp at the new XS Tennis Village will be designed for tournament players age 8-18 seeking a rigorous, competitive environment through which to improve their game. Led by top college players and XS tennis professionals, the camp will include fitness, tactical drilling, strategy, mental fitness, nutrition, and daily matchplay on outdoor hard courts as well as clay courts, with indoor hard courts used in inclement weather. The high performance training center will be used for fitness training. Local and regional tournaments will be held throughout the year, as well as during the summer months.

XS will offer a basketball camp designed by NBA player Quentin Richardson. The camp will focus on skills development, sport-specific strength training, endurance, drills, tournament play, nutrition, and positive, healthy competition. The camp will utilize the center’s full-size indoor basketball courts, indoor and outdoor tracks, as well as the indoor high performance center.

Track & Field Camp
