XSTEF is dedicated to reaching and providing opportunities to Chicago’s community youth and neighborhood CPS schools. As budget cuts jeopardize physical education programs, XSTEF, with generous support from Ariel Investments, provides CPS schools with a free, in-school tennis program that not only introduces K-3rd grade students to the sport of tennis, but also provides children with the extra physical activity necessary to growing bodies and minds. For those students who show interest in tennis, they are encouraged to become a part of the XS Tennis after school program, where tennis programs and academic support come together in the winning XS model of successful, college-bound XS Student-Athletes.

  • XSTEF serves more than 2,000 CPS K-3 students through free in-school Tennis XSpress program
  • Tennis XSpress Program services 10 schools: Ariel, Beethoven, Bret Harte, Carnegie, Murray, N. Kenwood-Oakland Charter School, Pershing East, Ray, Ruggles and Whistler
  • Neighborhoods served include: Roseland, Woodlawn, Chatham, Bronzeville, Washington Park and Auburn Gresham
